German food is not considered chic and glamorous however as the weather chills it becomes a robust comfort food. The owners, Isle Wenttengel and Michael Gerike, after 31 years have created a dining room without pretension and with a family warmth of days gone by. I was excited see most of my favorites enjoyed traveling through Germany over the years and was salivating over a Menu with a plethora of choices. My companion was my friend Barry from Miami Beach a German speaker and former flight associate of Pan American Airways. We started with a, Tucher Wheat Beer, served cold and with a taste to compliment the bounty to follow. We shared Potato Pancakes served with dill sour cream and apple sauce as an appetizer. My Grandmother was a terrific cook but I must admit these were better, sorry Bubba, LOL. Barry ordered Jäger (Hunter) Schnitzel Pork Tenderloin medallions in a mushroom wine sauce. I ordered my favorite dish Wiener Schnitzel ( Cutlet) our portions could feed 4. We were served Red Cabbage and Spaetzle (Traditional German home-made noodles pan fried with bacon and onions). we were both overwhelmed by the friendly atmosphere, attentive service orchestrated by Michael our server, excellent cuisine and huge portions. I can go on and on but I want you to experience this Gem of Hospitality and Gemütlichkeit. Oh, I forgot we almost had dessert but I finished all my food and was ready to be carried to the car, LOL.
