I've suddenly discovered an interesting human trait, perhaps you see it also and never gave it much thought. With political debates, religious fundamentalism and extreme ideologies with the "my way or the highway" or worse mentality this idea sprang forth. There is a deep ingrained survival instinct buried deep in the sub-conscious and shows itself when we are asked to make decisions not based on proven facts. We call it intransigent behavior, pig-headed and stubborn. Even in fact we will deflect reasoning to suite ourselves regardless of all reason. Think about Religion, Politics, Family etc. Does your concept of the divine differ than mine? Naturally yours is true and mine is subject to scorn or maybe I should be shunned or be-headed. Perhaps mine is the true one and yours is but a delusion. The Earth is 7+ Billion years old, how many dispute the logic of science and quote a Book that places all creation 6000 years ago or a religions that places the Universe on the back of a Turtle. Who's to argue? Politically I'm a reactionary that should be sent packing. One God, One Political Party, One Mind, One View. Despots throughout history all subscribed to the "ONE" theory concept, wow I no longer need to think, WAIT! do I want the Drink Super-sized? So many decisions.
What do you think? Do you?

Mitt Romney made a lot of money, has a lot of money, and spends a lot of money campaigning. Now we know he also once posed with money. Romney at Bain Capital creating wealth by breaking up businesses though asset sales.. Blessed be the 1%.

JOBS! JOBS!! JOBS!!! The chant from the people and a promise from an impotent government and pie in the sky Republicans continues. Obviously this collective cry glosses over the fact that 75% of our economy is consumer driven. As the consumer spends less and less the need for goods and services lessens creating an atmosphere of cutbacks and layoffs. Couple the downsizing of industry the flight of business to 3rd world countries only exacerbates the problem. Not to go into a litany of problems and causes I wish to state one thought that continues to drive my logic. Business is profit driven not a civic responsibility. When we in America are willing to compete on a level playing field with foreign cheap labor and government subsidized capitalism things might change. Are you willing to work 12 hour days, 6 day work weeks, $10 a day wages, no unions, no benefits, shall I go on with this list??. Industry as we know it from those heady days of World War II through the late sixties are over and will never return. I'm not doom and gloom as it may appear but a dialog and not political dogma must be on the table to at least attempt to solve this dilemma. Americans must realize we all sink or swim together.

<img src="http://alankachin.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/republican_debate.jpg" alt="DEBATE" />I've watched every Republican debate televised and have come to the conclusion "There's trouble in River City" If these candidates are representative of what America has to offer up as a candidate for the Republican nomination, pack your bags! I have been voting almost 50 years and the mantra remains the same. They believe in States Rights they forget the first Republican, Abraham Lincoln fought a war against States Rights before Emancipation was ever considered. Privatization is the goal at every opportunity. The aim is to take the decision making out of the average citizens hand and deliver it to the "Puppet Masters" (Corporate Interests/Mega Donors) the Big Boys who really pull the strings. Do I have to mention Xenophobia and the Unter Mensch coming to take your every last hope and dream. They wear the Flag and if you Disagree your a Socialist, Rabble, Lazy, Welfare Grappling, Non-Believer, Elitist, Liberal.

Listening to some of the questions asked by the hand picked audiences it was without a doubt taken from Sound Bites delivered by this pack of wannabees. "Tell a Lie enough and the people will believe" Here is a quick story I was told several days ago by a Wise Thinker.

The Monkey and the Organ Grinder, Remember them?
The crowd stood and watched with glee as the children asked the parents for a coin to give the Monkey. They handed the Coin and the Monkey tipped his Hat and pocketed the coin. "The Crowd Screamed With Delight" A man in the crowd took out a Dollar Bill and placed it before the Monkey. This intelligent Monkey trained for this spectacle reached out a GRABBED the Dollar waving it in the air and tipped his Hat Twice and pocketed the Dollar. The Audience went wild and the Dollars poured in.

The moral:
The foolish crowd gave up there money with absolute glee and the Organ Grinder Got The Cash! Ta! Da!
That's The Republican Philosophy...

Cypress Nook Restaurant, 201 East McNab Rd. Pompano Beach, Fl 33060... 954-933-7311

German food is not considered chic and glamorous however as the weather chills it becomes a robust comfort food. The owners, Isle Wenttengel and Michael Gerike, after 31 years have created a dining room without pretension and with a family warmth of days gone by. I was excited see most of my favorites enjoyed traveling through Germany over the years and was salivating over a Menu with a plethora of choices. My companion was my friend Barry from Miami Beach a German speaker and former flight associate of Pan American Airways. We started with a, Tucher Wheat Beer, served cold and with a taste to compliment the bounty to follow. We shared Potato Pancakes served with dill sour cream and apple sauce as an appetizer. My Grandmother was a terrific cook but I must admit these were better, sorry Bubba, LOL. Barry ordered Jäger (Hunter) Schnitzel Pork Tenderloin medallions in a mushroom wine sauce. I ordered my favorite dish Wiener Schnitzel ( Cutlet) our portions could feed 4. We were served Red Cabbage and Spaetzle (Traditional German home-made noodles pan fried with bacon and onions). we were both overwhelmed by the friendly atmosphere, attentive service orchestrated by Michael our server, excellent cuisine and huge portions. I can go on and on but I want you to experience this Gem of Hospitality and Gemütlichkeit. Oh, I forgot we almost had dessert but I finished all my food and was ready to be carried to the car, LOL.

The hospitality I found at The Aragon Inn a block off Wilton drive in Wilton Manors, Fl. was reminiscent of visiting my best friend. I had a luscious Staycation.

MagicJack, I purchased 3 of the original units, spending $$$ for phone service was stupid. M.J. has introduced the new non-computer unit. Check it out at MagicJack.com. Original Unit for USB Computer $39.95 includes 1 full year of calls. The new unit without the need of a computer is $69.95 with a full year of calls. The service is only $20 a years the difference in price is the one time unit purchase.

For over 40 years Jim Jacobs has been a friend and at times a business associate. Looking after him the last years of his life living through his Parkinson and Alzheimer’s has brought me an understanding that life is no picnic. With it all i miss his bright smile and look back with more than fond memories on our 40+ friendship. Everyday I think of you!
